Her father is Carlos Gallo (archaeologist), and her mother is Martha Gallo (travel guide). She has one brother Maximillian Gallo and two sisters Julia Gallo and Johanna Gallo.
At an early age, her parents wanted her to be an active child, so they enrolled her for acting and dancing classes. Melissa was also an active participant in her home church choir. While in school, she featured in theatre production. After high school, she joined New York University and undertook a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art and majored in drama.
