When we set out to create our new SVC Offroad 2017+ Gen 2 Ford Raptor Baja Smurf Bumper, we had certain criteria that needed to be met. The bumper needed to be sleek, lightweight, offer huge approach angles and make sure the relocated electronic blow off valve is protected behind the skid plate and not out in the open risking possible damage, and thus possible engine damage.
Each one of our Baja Frame Cut bumpers are meticulously CNC bent and radiused to contour the unique front fascia of the 2017-20 Ford Raptor. This process is time-consuming and difficult, but the end results speak for themselves. Each one of our bumpers in manufactured right here in the U.S.A. and goes through a rigorous QC inspection. Each bumper is assembled and welded on a perfectly flat and square fixture table that locates each plate and tube exactly where it needs to be to ensure easy installation and proper gaps.

The SVC OffroadV1Bypass Rack Systemis designed to handle up to a 3.0", 3.5", 4.0" five tube bypass shocks. The Bypass Rack will fitFox or King Bypass shocksproducing nearly 17" of wheel travel. Our system is designed from the ground up with strength in mind. The forces applied by larger race shocks are immense, and the structure holding those shocks needs to be up to the task. To ensure the structure was sound and resistant to twist,weintegrated a plate workbase system that's designed to add greater strength than another system on the market. The Bypass Rack shocktoweristhe actual base structure with internal gusseting foradditional support and strength.
By utilizing a plate shock mounting system, we have eliminated the possibilityof support tubes cracking atbase welds. We also opted to control the lateral load of the shocks by adding a 1.75" .120 wallA-Frame support structure that adds triangulation to counteractlateral loads wanting to bend and rip the mounts from the truck bed. What does all this mean? Simple, There isn't a better designed, looking or engineered Bypass shock mounting system on the market.

With the addition ofSVC Offroad's industry first and only threaded body Coil Adjustment System, you will have the ability to fine tune the front ride height of your vehicle vs. a pre-set determined ride height like the other systems on the market. In addition, you will be able to run 37in tires with the additionally available ride height increase, plus offset the dreaded driver side Raptor lean that has plagued these trucks since their inception.
Looking towards the rear of the vehicle, we firmly recommend the installation of Deaver Progressive Leaf Springs and our Adjustable Bump Stop System. With years of testing under our belts, the SVC Adjustable Bump System has proven to be three bump kits in one. No other kit on the market allows for three distinct different bump height settings like ours does.

OVERVIEW:
We'vebeen hard at work developing ournew Adjustable Bump System for the 2017+ Gen 2 Ford Raptor. We've not only stayed with our industry-leading adjustable but added toit for the Gen 2 crew. We are now featuring Fox's Racing Shox Internal Floating Piston bump stop. What does this mean? Simple, you have all the bottoming out compression control that you could ever need, but still have a soft initial impact which reduces rear-end donkey kicking that plagues these trucks with other bump kits.

The Gen 2 ABS kit is fitted with a removable bump can that can be adjusted up or down. When you move the bump can up, the kit is then in Xtreme Offroad mode. The highest setting will allow you to install a rear Bypass Rack and run a longer race shock through the bed for increased damping and bump travel.
Note: Leave the bump can in stock setting for all shock applications that mount to existing factory shock mounts.

OVERVIEW:
Whenset out to design a replacement I/C for the 2017-2020 Ford Raptor we had sets of criteria that needed to happen:
- The Intercoolers needed to increase the performance of your truck by reducing IAT temps that rob much needed horsepower pull after pull, which we achieved. Our Logs have shown reductions of over 20-30 degree temp drops vs. the stock intercooler in our testing.
- The I/C needed to work with many frames cut bumpers on the market, not just ours. We believe we have achieved that.
- The blow-off valve needed to be relocated up behind the grill so it stays out of the way from debris and hazards when off-roading. Our I/C relocates the factory blow-off valve away from harm for a more secure and trouble-free off-roading experience.

2010 was the year that Ford and their Special Vehicles Team (SVT) would create a legendary truck that would go on to pull at the heartstrings of off-road enthusiasts all over, the Ford SVT Raptor. The Ford SVT Raptor was based off of the already successful F-150 platform, but was strictly a purpose-built design not just for comfortably hitting the dirt, but soaring over it. It definitely wasn’t the first production off-road vehicle, but it is sure looked at as one of the most capable ever made.
The SVT Raptor had a run from 2010-2014, but Ford took a short break from the nameplate until 2017, when they dropped the “SVT” from the name. Although the original SVT was already so well known and beloved, the 2017 model stepped it up and brought much needed improvements.
Performance
The original SVT Raptor came from the factory in 2010 with two engine options, including a 5.4L V8, and a larger 6.2L V8, the latter becoming standard in 2011. Ford realized the V8, although big and brawny, could be replaced by their new EcoBoost engines. For 2017, the second generation of Ford Raptor got the new EcoBoost twin-turbo V6, much smaller than its V8 counterparts, but creates more torque and is incredibly more efficient. The 6.2L V8 was producing 411 hp and 434 lb-ft of torque, while the EcoBoost puts out an impressive 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque.
Another improvement for the second generation from the first was the inclusion of a 10-speed automatic transmission, rather than the SVT’s 6-speed. The addition of a larger gearbox gave the second generation Ford Raptor much better fuel economy while also giving the Raptor more options when looking for the right gear to hit the right power band.
For suspension, the second generation Raptor gained two inches of travel in the front and rear, going from 11 inches in the front and 11.9 in the rear to 13 inches and 13.9 inches. Wider Fox shocks were also incorporated into the second generation Raptor, along with 6 new driving modes.
Although the first generation of the Raptor was so highly acclaimed, its hard to look at the performance numbers and not agree that the second generation Ford Raptor is the better performer.
Exterior
Although the general designs of the first and second generation Raptors are fairly similar, a closer inspection will show you the massive amount of aesthetic changes Ford made between 2014 and 2017. To start, the SVT Ford Raptor was a tad bit narrower than its younger counterpart, but fitting a larger wheel setup and giving the Raptor more room for travel over the F-150 led to wider looking fenders. The second generation Ford Raptor is a bit wider, so the fenders aren’t as pronounced. When it comes to the grille and headlights, the differences are unmistakable, but the FORD logo stamped across the front will always be an attention grabber.
Overall, the first generation Raptor is a bit more rounded, from its hood leading into the flush headlights, and the wider, more distinct fender flares, while the second generation Ford Raptor is a bit boxier and beefier.
Technology
It’s understandable that the second generation Ford Raptor is going to have significant technological advancements over the SVT just because of when they were made. The SVT Raptor was based off of the 2010 F-150, while the second generation Raptor was based off of a much newer platform.
Technology the second generation Ford Raptor includes over the SVT: hydraulic soft-drop tailgate, panoramic sunroof, lane-keeping system, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, push button ignition, and more. The latest F-150 also comes standard with an all-aluminum body which got bought over to the Raptor, saving a ton of weight. As mentioned before, the newer Raptor also comes with the 6 drive modes, known as the “Terrain Management System''.
Conclusion
From 2010 to present, with a short hiatus, the Ford Raptor is no doubt the most capable and rugged production off-road vehicle ever built. And although the two generations have their differences, they each are incredible machines that can fly through the desert with ease.
